Vintage Objects In A New Light
"Raw Material"

Of course every project is different, but they all start with a general observation. I like to step back and view the object from all angles. I take time to think about all the options (base style, shade, bulb type) and decide the overall "look" to go for. If this is a custom job, now is when I would give you all your options and estimate pricing.
"Prep and fitting"

Next, I would move on to cleaning the object. (Always start with a clean surface) Then I consider any painting or touchup work. Sometimes a couple coats of the right paint is the difference between crusty and charming. However, I'm not one to paint when it isn't nesessary. Patina is a beautiful thing. Some objects have earned their "blemishes" and they should accentuated, not covered up. Now is the time to make any necessary physical changes to allow for wiring, base mounting etc...
"Final Assembly"

On to routing the wires and a final mock up to ensure a smooth assembly. Once satisfied, the lamp comes together and is tested for form and function. Now a quick final touchup and cleaning. Finally, that old piece is ready for a new life!
